What are some governing absolutes our country has learned through its history?

Creating illegal and immoral wars drives the country into economic desperation which creates wealth for the wealthy elites and omnipresent poverty for a large portion of the society. Without such wars, taxes could be substantially reduced, and the living standard and quality of life would be better for all. Imperialism is deeply ingrained and the exploitation of others is a constant in the history of the U.S.
