If the US government is so incapable of extending basic rights to its GLBT citizens such as marriage?

would it be a stretch to atleast outlaw DIVORCE for heterouals? Its such a sacred institution and all. And I would hate to see divorce turn this unsuspecting group that is ethically fit and morally astute into a loathsome group of egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigots.
