Was doing this mean/selfish?

Ok, so I go to a Catholic school. Our cl is going to perform the Stations of the Cross. I wanted the part of Veronica, but so did one of my really good friends. So we both volunteered for the part. Even though I wished the best for her, I still wanted the part for myself. By the way, the Religion Coordinator decides who gets the part. A few days later, my friend got the part. I high fived her and said "good job." I truly meant it, however I did feel just slightly jealous and dissapointed. Was feeling/doing this selfish? I did get over it, though, but I'm just wondering.
