S the saying true "a leopard cant change there spots"?

so i kind of like this girl that has a terrible reputation, like has slept with so many guys. And She likes me! should i go for it? or will it only end in heartache? I have never had with someone i wasnt dating, i may have made out and did like oral, and some other stuff...but i always felt should be shared with someone you love! also i am white, and the guys were mainly black...will this matter? i dont know if i could satisfy her... :(
