Cannot paste adsense code into correct place on googlesite website. ?

The instructions say paste between BODY and /BODY in the html code, but when i use the html editor on my googlesite i cannot find these amongst my code. I've even searched for the correct words and still nothing. What am i doing wrong? You would think that because they are both Google sites, that it would be straightforward!
