Grand Theft Auto level help! Farewell, my love...?

I need help with the level "Farewell, my love..." on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I can't seem to drive fast enough without damaging my car too much. I have no problem with cheating on the game. I've been trying to beat it by putting on the cheat that blows up cars, but it ends up blowing mine up when I crash into other cars. Please help!!!!
